The concept of CLEAN BEAUTY in the global cosmetics industry is about creating skin care products that show respect for the human body, the environment and animals. The search for and appeal of "clean beauty" has greatly increased in recent years due to growing consumer awareness of the importance of natural body care, as well as concern over the health effects of certain chemical ingredients.

Clean beauty cosmetics or “clean” cosmetics usually contain a relatively small number of ingredients to minimize the possibility of allergic and other reactions and are free of ingredients, which are considered suspicious or toxic to human health and the environment.

Although several cosmetic companies have developed products that communicate that they meet the criteria of “clean beauty” it is important to note that there is no universally accepted definition of what constitutes “clean beauty” resulting in a “murky” landscape and not knowing exactly how we should choose cosmetic products in order to be safe enough from their use.
